Berserk Form (暴走状態 Bōsō Jōtai) is both a major story element and a staple gameplay mechanic in the OneeChanbara series. It is a temporary physical and mental state that members of the Baneful Bloodline undergo after having their bodies stained from the blood of others, either from living people or Undead. The effects of the Berserk state are a double-edged sword: a Baneful's strength and agility are significantly heightened at the cost of a broken psyche hellbent on bloodlust and a gradual decline of their constitution.
