The following are in-game biographical profiles of characters and enemies in OneeChanbara ORIGIN, documented here for referential purposes.

Spoiler warning!
This article contains plot details about an upcoming episode.

Aya[]

A beautiful mistress of the sword who carries on the ancient tradition of the Baneful Bloodline as an assassin by trade.
Naturally capable of incredible swordsmanship.

Aya lived alone from childhood with her father Oboro, an accomplished swordsman who trained her mercilessly on a daily basis until she became his equal at a young age.

One day her stepmother Tsubaki was suddenly murdered by someone, and learning this, Aya's father suddenly vanished.

Now on her own, Aya worked as an Undead hunter with the help of a woman going by the name of Lei, who contacted her offering to provide services as an informant.

Aya's plan was to continue slaughtering Undead until she could find her father Oboro someday, and reconnect with her younger half sister Saki.

Saki[]

Aya's sister from a different mother.
Since her father Oboro took Aya and left home when she was young, Saki's only emotional support was provided by her kind mother Tsubaki.

One day, however, someone stole her mother's life away, and with it the foundation of Saki's entire life.

Having been told by Eva that the ones who killed her mother were her father, who had discarded her and her mother, and her older half sister Aya, Saki took up the sword and began training for revenge.

Saki also learned that there existed an ancient art that could bring her mother back to life.
To do this, she would need the heart of a member of the same Baneful Bloodline as her mother.

Saki plotted to summon and control the Undead with her powers, in order to lure Aya into a trap.
It was all a part of her plan to steal the heart of her hated sister, and to use it to resurrect her mother.

Lei[]

Another Undead hunter who contacts Aya as an informant.

In return for Aya hunting down Undead based on Lei's intel, Lei looks for information on Aya's missing family members as a business partner.
Lei contacts Aya and issues various instructions.

Aya knows almost nothing about Lei's origin, and mysteries still abound.
One thing Aya does know, however, is that Lei also has sisters.

Devda[]

An Undead created by the organization Uroboros out of a large but otherwise ordinary man.

Although this Undead is mass-produced mainly for use in battle testing within Uroboros, it's also sometines dropped into cities in order to sow confusion among the citizens.

Although its intellect and thought processes are the same as those of any ordinary zombie, its enormous size gives its attacks terrifying destructive power. Constant improvements have fixed various flaws over the course of many experiments, and the current version is vastly upgraded over the original prototype.

Ubie[]

The organization Uroboros took the ovum of a female researcher and the sperm of a man who had already started turning into an Undead, and combined them in order to create this half-Undead creature, which then ate its way out of its own mother's womb.

Although at 50 cm, it was the same size as any typical newborn, it then doubled in size in a few days, after which it continued to grow even larger.

It utters strange noises, and can't talk. Its gender is unknown.
It started attacking the researchers as if playing with toys, turning several of them into Undead themselves. Control of the hospital ward gradually became impossible, and so a culvert was destroyed in order to seal off the ward.

It uses its umbilical cord to prey upon Undead and rats, and hasn't stopped growing yet.

Anzu[]

A girl of the Baneful Bloodline who was brought back to life by Eva's powers.
Sayaka's little sister.
Although she's faithfully working to carry out Eva's order to "kill Aya," her hunger has driven her away from Sayaka, and she secretly devours zombie flesh.

She loves her big sister, just like she did while they both still lived.
Unlike Sayaka she remembers very little of her past, other than her big sister, who she remembers clearly.

Enamored of Sayaka's superhuman strength, she looks up to her "Sissy."
Although she hopes to master the flail at some point just like Sayaka, she's much too clumsy and has never once handled it correctly.

Sayaka[]

A girl of the Baneful Bloodline who was brought back to life by Eva's powers.
Anzu's big sister.
Faithfully working to carry out Eva's order to "kill Aya."

Unlike Anzu, no matter how strongly Sayaka feels the urge to eat human flesh after her reanimation, and no matter how hungry gets, she would rather die than eat a zombie.

She has long regretted killing Anzu in a battle to the death between sisters while both still lived.
She's overjoyed to be able to live together with Anzu again now that both have been reanimated, and she feels strongly that her mission as a big sister is to ensure that Anzu survives no matter what happens to her.

Incredibly strong even for a member of the Baneful Bloodline, she prefers to fight with a flail.
Incidentally, Anzu stopped calling her "Sis" and started referring to her as "my Sissy" at some point.

Although Sayaka enjoys karaoke, when she sees machinery of any kind, she's consumed by the desire to destroy it.
It's for this reason that she's never actually completed an entire song.

Death Bear[]

A bear that was bitten by a zombie after escaping the zoo, turning it Undead.
It was once a famous circus performer called "Drowsy the Bear."

It was never drowsy though, not even while alive, and it's now extremely vicious.
In fact, the harsh training it underwent at the circus had only held its tendency to rampage in check.

Although it doesn't remember any of these details now that it's Undead, it does instinctively understand that when humans cry out or applaud, food is on the way.

Eva[]

As a weaker member of the Baneful Bloodline, Eva was mocked and looked down upon by the rest, and now despises them all.
Her pregnancy with the child of one she didn't choose awakened both her hatred and her power, causing her to kill Oboro's beloved Tsubaki in a fit of jealous rage.

Although she gained tremendous power by consuming Tsubaki's heart, this act also caused her to contract an incurable disease, and she realizes that her life will soon be cut short.

Not wanted to die without first raising her daughter, she uses the Undead to kill members of the Baneful Bloodline so that she can eat their hearts.

She wears an amulet on her chest matching one her daughter also wears, and holds it dear.

Oboro[]

As the father of Aya and Saki, Oboro loves his wife and daughter more than life.

Although he had been plotting with Tsubaki to destroy the Uroboros organization that uses the Baneful Blood for its own ends, he had to continue working on his own after Tsubaki injured her leg.

Discovering that his daughter Aya was naturally skilled with the sword, he set off with her on a long journey of training.
Eva then killed Tsubaki, however, and started brainwashing Saki.
The shock of this was too much for Oboro, and caused him to lose control of his Baneful Blood, and along with it his rationality.
One day he almost hurt Aya for real while Berserk, and so he left home without a word to protect her.

His goals were to defeat Eva by saving Saki from her brainwashing, but his sanity gradually started slipping away for longer periods of time, so much so that he tried to kill Aya upon seeing her again.
This made him realize that he shouldn't expect to live much longer.

Leaving Saki and the remains of Tsubaki to Aya, he chased after Eva with the intention of using his dying efforts to achieve vengeance against Eva for what she'd done to Tsubaki.

Tsubaki[]

Oboro's wife and the actual mother of both Aya and Saki.
Was killed by Eva.

A master of classical martial arts, she also developed her own unique mortal combat skills.
While partnering up with Oboro as an assassin, Tsubaki suffered a severe wound to one leg and was forced to retire.

Although she bore Oboro two daughters named Aya and Saki, in order to protect them from the Baneful tradition of having sisters fight to the death to determine who would carry on the Bloodline, she pretended that Aya and Saki weren't full sisters.

Male Zombie[]

The Undead version of an ordinary man.
Always craving raw flesh, when they encounter living humans or animals they attack them single-mindedly.

Although they lack a sense of self, some say they prefer to eat young girls, and every once in a while you may encounter one that likes to eat a specific type of meat.

Female Zombie[]

The Undead version of ordinary women.

They're often found wandering around, or lurking between dimensions, but they jump into action upon sensing a living being.

It's said that they like to eat small children and animals.

Nurse Zombie[]

An ordinary female nurse who became Undead.

Since a medical facility was used as the site of experiments by a certain organization, there are quite a few zombified nurses wandering around.

Although their appearance may differ somewhat, their behavior is similar to that of Female Zombies.

Fatman[]

One of the results of experiments run by the organization Uroboros.

When a drowned corpse is given Undead DNA, the gas produced by internal decay increases explosively.
This effect stretches out the skin as well, and when the gas is released, the life force of the Undead transforms the flesh into something horrific.

Although it lacks a sense of self much like any Undead, it differs in that it goes on a rampage when beheaded. It's rumored that this was a failed experiment of some kind.

Police Zombie[]

A policeman who became Undead.
Uses the gun it's held since it was alive as a weapon.

Although shooting one of these from a distance is dangerous, since it takes some time for a Police Zombie to raise its arm and fire, you can disable it by rapidly approaching and slicing off both its arms.

Although some of these carry shields as well, you can easily defeat them by sneaking up behind them.

Soldier Zombie[]

A soldier who died in Japan before turning Undead.
Still retains some of its battlefield capabilities, making it a more dangerous Undead creature than average.

Some Soldier Zombies use a knife or martial arts to fight up close, while others randomly fire off small arms from a distance.

In some rare circumstances they may utter human words, but their sense of self is completely gone, and these words lack any meaning.

Dog Zombie[]

A dog that was put to sleep due to the arrogance of humans, back again as an Undead creature.
Perhaps holding onto a grudge due to its treatment while alive, it rushes forward to attack any human it sees.

Tends to hunt in packs that move with the speed of wild animals.
Its body is rotting, however, and its sense of smell is no longer sharp.

Mudman[]

A special Undead creature modified by someone.
Known for its corroded and glutinous body, it's immune to most forms of attack.

Either go between the gaps to destroy the core at the center of its body, or defeat it with the power of a Berserk member of the Baneful Bloodline.

Smells even nastier than your average Undead creature.

Clone[]

An artificial life form created by the organization Uroboros.

A recreation of the younger version of an old woman, thousands of completely identical clones are being mass produced from this template.

Voice, tone, and hairstyle are all randomly determined during the manufacturing process.

For some reason the ones with stronger wills also sport larger breasts, but none of the clones themselves concern themselves with this sort of detail.
